Review of Maggie Maes In Sunnyside Queens NY

How the hell are ya? Its been like forever since i shared a lovely spot for imbibing or sitting around being social with your lads. Well in the last 2 years I have compiled quite a list but I haven't changed at all so I will go to all the same places to give you a fresh take so complete is my commitment to you people. Today's bar is in the borough of queens in the somewhat undiscovered country south of Astoria and east of Long island city Sunnyside Queen and the spot is the Mighty Maggie Maes pub

I Love Sunnyside it is everything I look for in a place for a glorious night.
1)Easy to get to from anywhere in NYC
2)Nice happy hour but resonable post happy hour prices
3)in a heavy bar area that is full of neighborhood spots
4)rotten with after last call terrible food options
5)everyone is cool as shit

The first criteria is met by it being right off the 7 Line which is pretty much the middle of any trip from any where(Unless the 7 is acting like a Twat which its wont to do at times) but other then that its good option for a off the beaten path choice for a impromptu happy hour or get together or lets find someplace we never been and get loaded and make out and avoid our intimacy problems with bae.
Secondly Maggie Maes will not kill you're bank card even if you are Johnny "I got this put your money away" which I tend to turn into after a while. I would say if you are a whiskey or beer drinker you are going to be like a pig in shit here but even if you aren't there is plenty of options for you to pleasantly kill yourself publicly with friends. The bartenders have ALWAYS been super helpful and nice and don't put the screws to you for not knowing what you want which is good for Rooks.

The space is very easy to manage its got a decent back area which due to Sunnyside,s Neighborhood nature will never get obscenely crowded. There was renovation recently so that has helped in creating a big space that feels super intimate and local which is kind of my deal. They have big TV,s playing sports but they also have Comedy on some nights which is free and lots of fun. As for as 4 There is a dinner near there as well as a white castle right across the way so you can put the nail in your next days coffin and not have to walk far. if you are there earlier there is some solid food options and you can bring food in as they don't serve any. In conclusion you are looking for something different and like a nice lively crowd You cant beat Maggie Maes. I hope you enjoyed this I am back at it so expect a new review every Tuesday and maybe Thursday if i can manage. If you have a area you want me to check out or bar you want me to review feel free to drop a line at danny.c.crudup@gmail.com or any questions about a old review.
